Which everyday calculator to use

For home projects, start with the square footage calculator to get a floor area from feet-and-inches measurements. Then use the paint calculator for walls, the tile calculator for a floor, or the concrete calculator for a slab, footing or column. The BTU calculator sizes an air conditioner for a room.

For running costs, the electricity cost calculator prices an appliance per day, month and year, the fuel cost calculator prices a trip, and the EV vs. petrol/diesel cost calculator compares a year of driving and the payback on an electric car. The solar panel and battery payback calculator estimates how many years a system takes to pay for itself, and the UPS runtime calculator estimates how long a battery backup keeps a load running.

For school, the GPA calculator works out a grade point average on the 4.0 scale and the final grade calculator finds the score you need on a final exam. The dog age calculator converts dog years to human years by size, and the wind chill calculator gives the feels-like temperature from the air temperature and wind speed.
